Not too sure if we needed to post for this past week, but since we did have class last Wednesday and it's not August 6th yet, I figured I might as well.
ITS A GREAT MONDAY MORNING as I just found out that my Director is putting in the paper work to hire me as a console operator! YAYY!!! So, I would say my chances of continuing to work here just went up to 99%, assuming everything goes well with the paperwork! =)
Still working on my presentation for the 6th and I haven't practiced it yet, so I'm getting slightly nervous about that... I hope I can stretch out my slides to do enough talking for 12 minutes...
On my drive back down to FL from NY I stopped to say hi to my friend who lives in VA and we got to go to the Virginia Museum of Science where there was an awesome IMAX theater inside this huge dome. It was like what I would imagine the planetarium to be like. The film was about great white sharks and how we should not fear them, we should respect them. As a surfer, I couldn't agree more. Sharks are such beautiful creatures.

ReplyDeleteIn a planetarium are there holes cut out with a back light or is it a huge screen that you can play anything on? I really want to see one!
ReplyDeleteI think there are like 19 million little holes in our dome, which is made out of aluminum. We have different lighting effects for different things, but usually the lights are off and you see al of our stars/sun/moon/planets with a projector, or watch educational movies about astronomy/geology/biology/etc., which were specifically made to be played in domes You should come see it =)
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome that you are getting hired, it's a wonderful feeling. I'm glad that you got so much out of this internship.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure you'll do fine on your presentation, twelve minutes only feels like forever until you're actually talking
Dina it's nice to hear you pretty much got the job, that means I will definitely see you again because I really enjoyed my first visit. As far as your presentation goes I'm sure your going to do great!
